Citizen Engagement Meeting for Aundh-Baner-Balewadi area held on 3th March 2018
Citizens’ concerns and suggestions discussed
Citizen Engagement Meeting for Citizens of Aundh-Baner-Balewadi (ABB) area was held at Aundh ward office on 3th March 2018, under the Smart City Mission. The meeting held by Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) was addressed by Mr. Manojit Bose, Chief Knowledge Officer, PSCDCL. Citizens in good number from various parts of ABB area were present at the meeting.
PSCDCL officials listened to citizens of Aundh-Baner-Balewadi and took note of their suggestions and concerns regarding various projects being implemented as a part of Area Based Development under Pune Smart City scheme. Issues about implementation of ongoing and proposed projects were also discussed in this meeting. Citizens put forth their expectations in the meeting. Some citizens raised concerns regarding road widening and Mandi rehabilitation. In response to this, it was conveyed to the citizens that their concerns will be communicated to respective dept. of Pune Municipal Corporation. Similarly, the matter of Mandi rehabilitation is under trial and being considered by the court. PSCDCL will get information about the status of the matter and will let the citizens know about it within a period of month. PSCDCL will be considering citizens’ suggestions for the most feasible solutions.
Of late, National Director of Smart City Mission Dr. Sameer Sharma made a visit to Pune, who took a special note of Pune Smart City’s initiative of Citizen Engagement. He lauded the initiative mentioning that this is a unique and praiseworthy initiative by PSCDCL among other smart cities.
Mr. Manojit Bose, Chief Knowledge Officer, PSCDCL said, “We listen to citizens’ concerns open mindedly and take them into consideration. Thus, direct participation of citizens in the development is one of the good initiatives in the country.”
PSCDCL organizes Citizen Engagement meetings on every first and third Saturday of every month to receive feedback and suggestions of citizens regarding ongoing and proposed projects of the Smart City. Common citizen engagement meeting for Aundh, Baner and Balewadi on first Saturday and separate decentralized meeting for each local area of Aundh, Baner and Balewadi is held on third Saturday.
