Citizens among Aundh-Balewadi-Baner (ABB) local development area spontaneously responded to Pune Smart City’s second ‘Citizen Engagement Meeting’
Presentation of Smart City’s ‘Place Making’ and other developmental initiatives
Pune Smart City’s monthly ‘Citizen Engagement Meeting’ conducted successfully at Aundh ward office today. Dr. Rajendra Jagtap, CEO, Pune Smart City Development Corporation Ltd., other officials and citizens of Aundh-Baner-Balewadi (ABB) local development area attended the meeting. In an interactive discussion, Dr.Jagtap and other official addressed Citizens’ various issues and observations.
Citizens were briefed about Pune Smart City’s novel and an innovative project- ‘Place Making’. Designs of upcoming place making sites namely – “Community Farming with Senior Citizen Facility, Science Park and Bookzania” were presented before citizen. Citizens shared their valuable observations regarding Smart City Mission’s ‘Street Redesign’ project. ‘Any of road development work will be undertaken in accordance with Indian Road Congress (IRC) norms,’ smart city officials responded in a positive gesture.
Citizens appreciated and applauded Smart City’s recent initiative ‘Public Bicycle Sharing Service’ in Aundh and demanded to avail such service in Balewadi and Baner.
In order to enhance public participation in developmental processes of Smart City Mission, ‘Common Citizen Engagement Meeting’ involving citizen groups of Aundh, Balewadi and Baner is being organized on first Saturday of each month. Accordingly, first meeting was conducted on 2nd December 2017; today’s (6th January 2018) was second of its kind. Citizens responded good to both meetings.
In order to have better interaction, ‘Separate and More localized Citizen Engagement Meeting’ for each of Aundh, Balewadi and Baner local developent area is to be organized on third Saturday of the each month henceforth.
