Pune smART Week to open with an awe-inspiring performance “Flavours of India”

The event would be inaugurated by Hon. Jayakumar Rawal, Minister of Tourism

Pune : The much awaited Pune smART Week 2019, organized by Pune Smart City, begins tomorrow 14th February 2019 at 4.30 PM at Balgandharv auditorium. The event would be inaugurated by Honorable Shri Jayakumar Rawal – Minister of Tourism, Employment Guarantee Scheme, Government of Maharashtra, in the auspicious presence of Honorable Shri Girish Bapat – Cabinet Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Food and Drugs Administration, Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Maharashtra, Honorable Shri Prakash Javadekar – Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India, Honorable Shri Dilip Kamble – Minister of State for Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra, Honorable Shri Vijay Shivtare – Minister of State for Water Resources and Water Conservation, Government of Maharashtra, Honorable Shri Vishal Chordia – Chairman, Maharashtra Khadi and Village Industries Board and other respected guests.

The inauguration would be marked by an awe-inspiring dance and music performance “Flavours of India” – a program that has won the hearts of people around the globe. The show is an elaborate display of a wide range of Indian musical and dance forms including classical, contemporary and fusion. With instruments such as dilruba, mridangam, tabla, folk instruments and others, and dance performances including folk dances, kathak and other classical dance forms from the country.

Pune smART week is a festival in its true essence, celebrating ART FOR ALL. It’s a confluence of art across various mediums and technology for creating a unique, visually enhanced experience. The event promises an array of programs, exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations, competitions, talks, children’s activities, and installations in the field of visual arts & design, dance & music, films & theatre and other media.

All the events are FREE for all and would be hosted at venues that are at the centre of the city, including Jangli Maharaj Road, Bal Gandharva, Sambhaji Park, Ferguson college Road, Raja Ravi Varma Gallery, Ghole Road, Police Parade Ground, etc.
