City Witnesses an Installation Dedicated To The Martyrs Of The Pulwama Terror Attack
Pune : The city witnessed an installation that was dedicated to the martyrs of the Pulwama terror attack. The installation that is installed on F C Road is a direct response to the violent terrorist attack on the brave soldiers of our country. This art installation has been conceived by artist Aditya Shirke in collaboration with the organizers.
“Art has the power to create a society that is sensitive. It has the power to heal the society. And Pune SmART City is a unique fest that is making it possible by promoting and celebrating art”, said Sidharth Shirole, Corporator, PMC.
The Children’s Smart Pune Art Installation had visitors from all around Pune. National Award Winning Film maker Atanu Biswas conducted the film making workshop, wherein enthusiasts from all over Pune learnt the art of creating story for the big screen. Prof. P K Ghanekar had a great session interacting with the audience on Pune & its environs – Scope of Tourism.
Dr. Rajendra Jagtap, CEO, Pune Smart City Development Corporation Ltd. (PSCDCL), says, “Through an ensemble of different forms of art, Pune SmART Week aims at encouraging the people to come out of their digitally enclosed space, and into an open world where people can appreciate art, interact creatively and enjoy.”
“People across the country are talking about the cultural heritage of Pune that seems to have been revived through Pune SmART Week”, declared Dr. Siddharth Dhende, Deputy Mayor of Pune.
(for the 22nd) Today, in one of the most powerful musical performance, the Manganiyar’s from the culturally rich land of Rajasthan deliver a hypnotic combination of rhythm and melodies at Police Parade Ground at 7 pm. In theatre, watch the aspirations and struggles of the current generation in a six scene drama called Cafe Alibaba, by citizen activist Satish Khot, at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Auditorium at 7 pm. The Children’s Smart Pune Art Installation displaying the children’s idea of Smart Pune in a unique cityscape installation continues at Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery Foyer. In the expert talk, award winning historian, expert in Modi script, forts and archeology Pandurang Balkawade would speak about “Pune through the ages” at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Auditorium at 5 pm.
There is a plethora of events at Sambhaji Park with Art in Park and Demos by Artists. The venue also marks the launch of two new programs which includes Demos by Artisans and Food & Craft Mela. All these are all day activities.
“This project started by Pune Smart City has given me an amazing platform to connect with a lot of artists from across India and also with Punekars. Pune SmART Week is a great way of building awareness towards art and artists”, said Senior Artist Suhas Bahulkar.
