Coordination Workshop held on Zero Waste Aundh Project by PMC and Pune Smart City
Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) along with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) have initiated Zero Waste project covering Aundh ward office area. Project aims to cover Aundh, Baner, Balewadi, Bopodi, Pashan areas to promote 100% in-situ composting. The motive of the workshop was to bring all the different stakeholders on one page to achieve effective coordination, understand challenges and possible solutions. The workshop started by giving overview of the project ,sharing findings of survey results. Participants validated relevant data sets and gave their valuable inputs to strengthen the data. Participants presented their challenges and possible solutions to make composting successful. A draft work plan of 3 months was also discussed.
20th April, 2019. Mr Dnyaneshwar Molak and Madhav Jagtap of Solid Waste Management Department, Mr. Sandip Kadam, Ward officer, PMC and Mr Vasant Patil, Area Development Officer of PSCDCL gave their valuable inputs to make the project successful. Ms Zigisah Maskar, Consultatn PMC, Dr. Ketaki Ghadge, Medical Officer, PMC Divisional Sanitary Inspectors, Sanitary Inspectors, Mukadam participated in the workshop. PSCDCL Team members Mr.Sangram Jagtap, Ganesh……. along with Centre for Environment Education (CEE) and SWaCH Cooperative facilitated the process as implement partners in this project.
Regarding this, Chief Executive Officer of Pune Smart City Dr. Rajendra Jagtap was quoted saying, “Pune has taken the lead in comparison to other cities in the important area of waste management. We are trying to work with relevant organizations to focus on this issue.”
