Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited has been conferred with four national Smart City Awards by Union Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, for Smart Placemaking, Lighthouses, Smart Public Bicycle Sharing and PMC Care; another feather in the cap of PSCDCL.
The awards were received by Mrs. Mukta Tilak, Mayor of Pune and Dr. Rajendra Jagtap, CEO, PSCDCL at the hands of Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri, Honorable Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs during inaugural ceremony of the Exhibition organized on the occasion of 3rd anniversary of AMRUT, Smart Cities Mission and PMAY (U) on 27th July 2018 at Lucknow.
PSCDCL has been rated, qualified and selected for the awards on various parameters of urban development by the Union Ministry. The awards are conferred on PSCDCL during the two day national workshop on ‘Transforming Urban Landscape’ marking 3rd Anniversary of PMAY (U), AMRUT and Smart Cities Mission at Lucknow. The winning team of PSCDCL was invited to receive this honor.
Expressing the gratitude towards the citizens of Pune, Dr. Rajendra Jagtap, CEO, PSCDCL was quoted saying, “At the national platform Pune again performs best by winning 4 of the 11 awards in the category. This is a testimony that Pune is moving ahead with better liveability, resilience in becoming a smart city. This will boost our morale to a higher level to work towards achieving Smart City Mission goals in Pune. We are grateful to the citizens of Pune who have always been supportive for all Smart City Projects all through.” Dr. Rajendra Jagtap also addressed the conference during a session on ‘Re-imagining Urban Spaces’.
Attributing this achievement to Punekars, Mayor Mrs. Mukta Tilak said, “PSCDCL has got a national level recognition with these awards that have certainly brought encouragement to all Punekars and to those who work in the Smart City Projects. Such accolades motivate the system to work more vigorously for Smart City.”
There were breakout sessions in the workshop which included topics like ‘Addressing Essential Features of Smart Cities’, ‘Inclusive Cities- Connected Communities’, ‘De-mystifying Integrated Command & Control Centers’, ‘Re-imagining Urban Spaces’, ‘Complete Streets Paradigm’. Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi will take a review of Smart City Mission at the end of the workshop.
PSCDCL has received these top awards in line with the awards received four times in the recent past. It has recently won three awards for different projects at 52nd SKOCH Summit, Smart Cities India Awards 2018 and Best ICT award at BW Business World Digital India Summit & Awards 2018.
