Piyush Mishra Pays Tribute to Jawans Martyred in Pulwama Attacks
Pune– Pune city is all decked for Pune smART Week 2019 with various art, design installations and colourful pillars and gates as the city is gearing up for a plethora of events from the 16th of February.
To kick start the workshops, students and creative professionals witnessed an inspiring power-packed hand lettering workshop by ChandanMahimkar with a sensitively apt subject matter of “Art Heals”. The evening of a soul-stirring performance of Billimaaraan by Piyush Mishra, gave a fitting end to the day in homage to the matrys the recent terror attack on Thursday. Through its strong lyrics, melodious tunes and soul-piercing music, the multi-talented artist Piyush Mishra says that his work is inspired by Mirza Ghalib. Both events were preceded in a 2 minutes silence .
Pune smART week in its true essence and aligned with its motto, is celebrating ART FOR ALL. It’s a confluence of art across various mediums and technology for creating a unique, visually enhanced experience. The event promises an array of programs, exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations, competitions, talks, children’s activities, and installations in the field of visual arts & design, dance & music, films & theatre, literature & talks.
Further to this objective, ‘Pune SmART Week’ will evolve every day with something new for citizens to experience and the momentum would build up till the 24th of February.”
16th will begin with a tribute to one of the most celebrated artists – Raja Ravi Varma – through an exhibition of his rare lithographs and prints at Bal Gandharva Kala Dalan, curated by AjitGadgil. In workshops, photography enthusiasts have a must-attend workshop on photography framing by Rajesh Joshi. His portfolio includes celebrity shoots, product ads, and travel for major newspapers and magazines.
A drawing competition with a difference, is to be carried over for 16-17th Feb for school children from 5th-9that Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery.Selected drawings and innovative ideas would be exhibited from 20th-24th as a public art installation representing the futuristic Pune.
Punekars can take a stroll in the flower festival held at Sambhaji Park and also witness a range of eye-catching art installations along Fergusson College Road Promenade. A must visit experience is to the smart technology interactive musical wall that would beinstalled for citizens to create music on their own. Another immersive experience is through the ‘The tunnel of reflections’ which is a tunnel with multi-mirrored surfaces.
