Pune Smart City bags 6 Prestigious SKOCH Awards : Platinum Award for Smart E Bus project and Silver  Awards for Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) and SafetiPin Projects along with Order of Merits

 Pune: Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) has won 6 awards at the recently concluded 69th SKOCH Summit through Online Conference.

Pune Smart City bags Prestigious SKOCH Award 2020 the highest honors Platinum award for its marquee Smart E-Bus Project and Silver awards for ICCC and SafetiPin projects. These three projects were also awarded skoch Order-of-Merits during the semi-final stage.

Dr. Sanjay Kolte, CEO, PSCDCL received these prestigious Awards on behalf of Pune Smart City.

It is to be noted that, in 2018, Pune Smart City received Skoch Order of Merit as a Smart City while in 2019, Order of Merit was awarded to smart clinic project. However, this year’s awards show the consistency demonstrated by PSCDCL in implementing the projects.

After going through stringent evaluation process, and qualified on parameters such as jury evaluation and popular voting, Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited has been conferred with these Awards.It is this process that sets SKOCH Award apart, from other awards and certifies that the final recipient is indeed amongst the best in India. Pune Smart City was awarded Platinum and Silver awards by competing with more than 100+ semi finalists.

This selection and announcement is made by the SKOCH group and the award is conferred on PSCDCL during the 69th SKOCH Summit (22nd December 2020) within the underlying theme of State of Governance. PSCDCL was conferred these awards in an online summit.

Details of the projects are as below:

Smart E-Bus: With an aim to build a sustainable transport network for the City and reduce the pollution levels, e-Bus project was envisaged by Pune Smart City Development Corporation Ltd. (PSCDCL) and executed by Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML). Total 150 buses were slated to be procured and as on date more than 125 are on ground.

ICCC: PSCDCL’s Integrated command and control center enables the city administration and its stakeholders to make informed decisions with real-time data. The 720 smart elements installed across the city are the key information sources. The alerts from flood sensors during the recent rainy seasons helped in rescue operations and disaster team operations. ICCC was converted to Central COVID-19 war room to coordinate 24×7 operations with 15 ward offices for better management on home isolation tracking, Contact Tracing, co-morbid survey, defining hotspots and containment zones.

Safetipin: PSCDCL’s Safetipin Application is a unique project that enables the Citizens to identify the roads in the city which are safe to travel at any time of day. We have conducted safety mapping for city by collecting more than 50,000 images of city streets using Safetipin Nite app. 6,632 safety audits generated using uniquely collected geo-tagged day and night tie photographs which contribute to generate safety score based on the parameters such as lighting, openness, visibility, crowd, security, walkpath, availability of public transport, Gender Diversity and feeling.
