Pune Smart City Participates in the Smart Cities Asia 2019 Conference at Kuala Lumpur

PSCDCL’s Chief Knowledge Officer Presented a Case Study at the Conference

Pune:- Pune Smart City was invited to be a part of the Smart Cities Asia 2019 conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the 11th and 12th of September 2019. The fifth edition of this international conference was inaugurated by YB Puan Hajah Zuraida Bt Kamaruddin, Minister of Housing and Local Government, Malaysia and was attended by Smart City experts from different countries in the world including Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India and host country Malaysia, amongst others.

YB Jagdeep Singh Deo A/L Karpal Singh, Penang State Executive Councillor (EXCO) for Local Government, Housing and Town & Country Planning, Penang, Malaysia, presented his vision for developing Penang as a Smart State. The two day conference saw extensive discussions around different aspects of Smart Cities including Governance & Planning, Smart Mobility & Connectivity, Urban Intelligence and Smart & Sustainable development.

Pune Smart City’s Chief Knowledge Officer (CKO) Mr. Manojit Bose was invited to this conference for the fire side chat on “What should city leaders do to embrace and capitalize on innovation “. He also presented on Data and Technology led innovation : Pune Smart City, a case study on day 2.

The discussions focused around key governance instruments that city leaders can use to transform disruptive innovations into opportunities that will help advance the development of cities. It also focused on how cities can better prepare themselves to embrace innovation and adapt to new technologies.
