Smart Cities Council India announces PSCDCL as winner under two categories
Pune: Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) has won two Smart Project awards at national level for two different projects. Smart Cities Council India has announced these awards today (Thursday, 20th September 2019). Smart E-bus project has been selected under Smart Transportation category, while PMC Care project implemented by Pune Municipal Corporation has been selected under category of Smart Citizen Service Delivery.
In order to recognize achievements in the area of smart solutions, Smart Cities Council India organized the competition in order to find the highest citizen benefitting projects in India. The above two projects from Pune got selected. The awards will be given on 25th September at Bangalore.
Smart E-bus project in Pune is a unique project as Pune is the first smart city to initiate and support Electric bus project in India. PSCDCL has been working with PMPML for the Smart E-bus project for Pune City. PSCDCL has also earmarked funds as contribution for the procurement of electric buses as well as support facilities such as charging infrastructure, in line with the Pune Smart City Plan. A total of 150 electric buses are being procured under the first phase.
PMC CARE is a 360 degree framework which extends its various delivery channels to Pune citizens for submitting grievances leading to effective and responsive governance.
CEO, PSCDCL, Dr. Rajendra Jagtap, congratulated Punekars and thanked for their acceptance of Smart E-bus project and extensive support Smart City projects. Dr. Jagtap was quoted saying, “Pune Smart City has already marched towards enhancing liveability of the city. It is indeed an honor to be recognized at the Smart Cities Council India. It is recognition of our continuing efforts towards making Pune one of the leading Smart Cities nationally.”
The Smart Project Awards will showcase and award those projects that have demonstrated innovative applications of technology in service delivery, and encourage innovation, promote and exchange experiences in solving problems, mitigating risks, resolving issues and planning for success.
