Pune smART Week 2019 Signs off with Entertainment of Punekars to the Fullest

 Pt. Niladri & Bhadipa Made the Weekend for Thousands of Punekars at the smART Week

 Pune : In the final event of this phenomenal art fest, citizens experienced the electrifying compositions of the Sitar Maestro – Pandit Niladri Kumar – who performed on “Sitar Funk” at Police Parade Ground at 7 pm. Using the traditional classical form as the base, Panditji is known to deliver soulful rendition using his instrumental innovation called the “Zitar”.

The Sunday morning, the city of Pune experienced a surge of excitement, with a euphoric line-up of programs planned for the Grand Finale of Pune SmART Week 2019. People had planned their entire Sunday around JM Road as it got buzzing with Pune first ever largest affordable Street Art Fair. The stalls had been set up. The artists from around the nation here connected with Punekars through art their passion for art. Punekars witnessed some of their greatest works being displayed at unbelievable prices. It’s a great opportunity for the first time art buyers to own a piece of art, and for the art lovers to add on to their collection.

Talking about the success of Pune smART Week, the CEO of Pune Smart City, Dr. Rajendra Jagtap said, “I am so very happy with the way Pune SmART Week has been executed. Pune witnessed art loving people from around the nation. It created a surge of enthusiasm within Punekars. I can sense that people have loved it, and have received feedback that many of them have decided to develop the artist within. I am thankful to the artists, executors, PMC, Pune Police Department, and my team at PSCDCL for all their hard work, and motivating all of us towards building Pune a smart and sustainable city.”

Senior artist Sachin Kolhatkar said, “This is a great art movement that Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited has started. It has created a great platform for the budding as well as established artists to reach to people. It has generated oxygen for the artists. Most of the people do not go to art galleries; but Street Art Fair is bringing art to people, building awareness and because it’s an affordable art fair, art is reachable to them. Pune SmART Week, is enhancing the brand value and respect for art. Pune, now have their own art fest. I definitely think this fest should happen every year.”

Young artist Shweta Ektare, who is participating in the Street Art Fest, says, “It’s a great initiative for artists like me to connect with people.”

The Street Art Fair, started from 9 am, and it was accompanied by Happy Street from 8 am to 11 am for the first time on JM road. Citizens experienced a wide assortment of activities and performances, including Music presentations, Dances, Flash Mobs, Dance Skits, Street Plays, Board Games, Open Mics, Poetry Recital, and a lot more.

“Pune SmART Week’s Street Art Fair is a fun-filled family event that we did not just bought art works, but also met the artists and help my kids draw inspiration from their work”, said Mrs. Arati Grampurohit – a Punekar.
