Pune Smart Week Witnesses Artists And The Citizens Connecting At Even Levels

Pune- The citizens across city, who have been attending Pune SmART Week, have some great experiences to talk about. The fest has seen both artists and the citizens connecting at even levels. Pune SmART Week is a fantastic opportunity for citizens to actually go beyond what they do in their everyday life. It’s about interacting with art and talented individuals who have come from all other cities, and reignite the passion for Art.

The afternoon started with a bang, with the unveiling of the much awaited musical wall at the hands of the renowned Music composer, singer, Kaushal Inamdar. Also present was his wife and singer Suchitra Inamdar, and Animator Abhijit and Uma Nene. This fantastic creation is a melody of music and sounds of different instruments. Punekars have been going wild creating their own music with this wall. We feel that this is a must visit installation of Pune SmART Week for all citizens.

Both the art exhibitions – A Tribute to Raja Ravi Varma and Pratibimb – are a visual treat with some rare and unique paintings and portraits on the display. The portrait symposium – Pratibimb – was inaugurated by the chairman of the Lalit Kala Academy Shri Uttam Pacharne, followed by mind blowing demonstration of portrait painting by dynamic artist Aditya Shirke.

Prashant Damle’s supremacy on the stage was proved yet again, by his well-timed humour and acting skills in the play “Eka Lagnachi Pudhchi Gosht”, which was presented to a full house at Bal Gandharva RangMandir in the evening.

Today (18th February), there are two culturally rich performances that are absolutely free for all citizens brought to you by Pune SmART Week. In the evening at 6 pm, behold the storytelling of “Krishna – the Liberator” in the form of Kathak dance performance by one of the greatest Kathak exponents – Guru Shama Bhate. The story is narrated through graceful swaying and foot tapping beats of the classical dance form, as she takes us through sophisticated visualizations of the Leela including Kaliya Mardanam, Govardhana Leela, Kamsa Mardanam and more. You can walk into Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir to experience the divinity of dance.

At twilight, Punekars can experience a specially curated program – One Sky at Sambhaji Park. For the very first time, Prem Joshua & Band, Bodhi Kranti and Zen Vartan would be creating a stunning mélange of music, dance and painting. Prem Joshua & Band are the pioneers of crossover sound that is nestled at the cusp of Eastern tradition and Western innovation. Bodhi Kranti is a clinical psychologist, healer, meditation and yoga guide across India and a dancer. The award winning artist Zen Vartan seamlessly integrates spirituality with the media and surface. This unique blend of three distinct art forms performed under the same sky has been aptly named as One Sky. This magical performance has been curated by Pune SmART Week to create a sublime experience for the audience, where art transcends boundaries. The program begins at 7:00 pm.

For the creative minds who love to scribble their thoughts to get more clarity, or wish to get into the habit or for those who wish to innovate, Pune SmART Week presents Workshop on Pen Illustrations (Doodle Art) by Aditi Deo of The Doodle Factory. Also today, an ArtWalk for Kids under the brand name of “Catch them Young” is being organized by Gayatri (Gaya3) Deshpande.
